What is Ptakks and removal instructions
A Remote Administration Tool is a special kind of hacker spyware, used for remote access and control of other people's computers. The attacker infects the PC via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. A "server" allows him to connect via a "client" on his own machine. The functions of a RAT may vary, depending on the needs of the hacker. Some RATs can't really harm your PC and the only purpose they were made for is hooliganism. But some versions can steal vital information, delete files and even crash your system. This RAT can spy on user by taking screenshots of victim's monitor activity. This pest was written in Visual C programming language. The author is a Spanish hacker called QuoVadis. The infection can be noticed, because when you run the infected file, it will display the following message: "Header file corrupt, if you downloaded this file from internet, try to download again." This RAT affects such operating systems as Windows 95, Windows 98/Me, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. But users of Windows 3.x, Microsoft IIS, Macintosh, UNIX and Linux are immune to this threat.
