What is Elzio and removal instructions
Elzio is a spyware trojan that steals sensitive user and system information and displays unsolicited commercial advertisements. The parasite steals user identity details and addresses of visited web sites, retrieves system information and Internet Explorer settings, collects information about installed software and recently played media files. Gathered data is transferred to a predetermined remote server. Elzio is able to silently update itself via the Internet. The trojan automatically runs on every Windows startup.
Elzio manual removal: Delete registry values: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\[random filename]
Delete directories: C:\Windows\System\[random directory name]
C:\Windows\System32\[random directory name]
C:\Winnt\System32\[random directory name] Misc: Elzio is related to www.lzio.com web site.
The trojan creates files and directories with random names.
