What is Bustoy and removal instructions
Bustoy is a worm that spreads through removable storage devices such as USB drives, memory cards, etc. Once the user connects a removable storage device, the parasite copies itself to the device's root directory. Connecting that storage deivce to another computer will execute the worm, and thus infect a PC. Bustoy does not carry any destructive payload, and even attempts to terminate certain pests. It runs on every Windows startup.
Bustoy manual removal: Kill processes: mslogon.exe, systemnt.exe, toy.exe
Delete files: mslogon.exe, systemnt.exe, toy.exe
Misc: Exact file location:
mslogon.exe - C:\Windows\System, C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Winnt\System32
systemnt.exe - C:\Documents and Settings\[Current User]\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
The toy.exe file can be found in the root directory of removable storage devices.
